Anyone who knows me knows I love my sunglasses. It takes a special pair to earn a place in my fab collection, which is why when I met Prada’s Minimal Baroque on a best-friends shopping binge last month, I had to snap them up. It was in love at first sight, but my besties thought otherwise and words like “bug” and “seriously” could be heard in the halls at Bendel’s.
Undeterred, I’ve been rocking them happily ever since. I knew they were amazing, yet from time to time flashbacks of my pals’ questioning looks still crossed my mind. So, you can imagine my delight and satisfaction when I came across this article and learned that my new sunnies have been gracing some of the most famous faces in Hollywood. Turns out I have star-worthy style!
Now, I don’t need friends or celebrities to validate my fashion choices, but even the most fashion forward of us still suffer from “I wonder if this looks OK” doubts from time to time. The article reminded me of one of my top closet convictions: Wear what you love and wear it confidently. I knew what I liked, and whether or not everyone else did, wearing what I loved made me happy. That’s what we should all strive to feel every day.
So moral of my sunglasses saga: whether its sunglasses, a shirt or even a favorite piece of jewelry, everyday rock at least least one thing that you love and that makes you smile. You’ll feel good and it will show. And, if you happen to find out that your sartorial choice puts you in the same company as Gwen Stefani, even better. Hollaback!
